Continuing education for the didactic management of the curriculum with a competency-based approach in the area of social sciences at the primary level

Abstract

Objective:

The study aimed to propose a continuing education strategy for primary school social science teachers focused on competency-based curriculum didactic management.

Methods:

The structural-functional method was used to develop the professional development strategy, and critical reflection and collective construction workshops were held to assess its feasibility and relevance based on the systematization of the authors' previous scientific results.

Result:

A continuing education strategy is offered for competency-based curriculum didactic management that contributes to the performance of primary school social science teachers.

Conclusion:

The continuing education strategy establishes the necessary actions to improve the professional pedagogical performance of primary school teachers, enabling competency-based curriculum didactic management in the social sciences area.
