Contribution to the epistemic foundations of the investigative training of the legal sciences professional

Objective: This paper aims at reviewing the framework of research skills education of criminalist.
Methods: The authors rely on a mixed approach (Hernández‐Sampieri & Mendoza, 2018)
oriented towards qualitative research based on the materialist‐dialectical method in reviewing documentary sources by means of theoretical methods such as analysis‐synthesis induction‐
deduction, historic and logic procedures.
Result: The main finding is a framework for the research skills education of criminalist, based on
the grounds of certain units of analysis: structure and content, research education, execution
and science visibility and curricular design.
Conclusion: Research education is both a process and a result of the dialectical appropriation of
knowledge, skills, habits and ethical professional values.
